Skolkovo Residents visited Samsung Digital City in Suwon

The "Skolkovo" Foundation resident companies have presented their projects during the pitch-session at Samsung Company office, located in the "Digital city" near Seoul. Meeting with the representatives of Samsung Corporation was held in the framework of the Korean-Russian business week, held in South Korea.

"Today there was a unique event where Russian innovative companies working in various technology areas have presented their projects to Samsung Company mobile division. The products of Intersoft Eurasia (DO-RA), Luminescent Innovative Technologies, MobilityLab (WorksPad), ABBYY, iRidium Mobile and C3D Labs were shown here. Some companies are already working in South Korea — in particular, WorksPad has already signed a partnership agreement with Samsung", said Partnerships and Business Development Director of the Skolkovo Foundation IT cluster Ivan Kireev to Sk.ru.

The company MobilityLab became the first Russian developer of corporate mobile apps in the “Unified Communications and Collaboration” category in the giants’ partner program – Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP).The corresponding status of the developer has been received in May 2015. Accreditation by the SEAP program helps the company to promote the business application WorksPad at the international market of corporate software.      

Some of the agreements were reached by Intersoft Eurasia, in particular, the Company will introduce Samsung the new product in the foreseeable future. DO-RA Project Manager, Ph.D. Vladimir Elin said that in the fourth quarter of this year the company will start the production of peripheral multiplatform DO-RA.Q devices which are also adapted for Tizen OS. In addition, by the end of the year the company will start the development of their own DO-RA.micro chipset in cooperation with Russian and European developers.

Samsung representatives have discussed with each of the projects the possibility of further cooperation, agreed to exchange "road maps" of products’ development. "We hope that these plans will be implemented, because the technological solutions presented today, are among the most progressive in their fields. Moreover, we expect that Samsung would act not as a direct customer, but due to the company network, our projects will find new partners and new markets, "- said Ivan Kireev.

One part of the meeting with the Russian delegation at Samsung office has been devoted to the development of the operating system Tizen, which Korean corporation aims to promote. Samsung Vice President Ian Son noted that Russia is working on the creation of the Tizen association, and devices running on the basis of this open source operating system will appear in Russia among the first countries.

Earlier, Vice President, Executive Director of IT Cluster Igor Bogachev has noted in an interview with Tass that Skolkovo start-ups are interested in Tizen as a platform that allows you to create new solutions in the field of "Internet of Things".

"This is a new step in the development of operating systems for mobile devices and technologies of the Internet of things sphere; it is a unique ground for our start-ups, which can be attached to the platform and develop their own solutions for hundreds of thousands of devices based on the Tizen OS », - summed up Ivan Kireev after the meeting at Samsung.
